Christmas Rose (Helleborus)

Helleborus is a variety of flower that came from Europe and western Asia.   This is a perennial that is for cooler climates.  They can bear beautiful open flowers in white or shades of green, red and purple and are usually planted in masses in the shade of deciduous trees.  All hellebores are poisonous.

There also have been referred to as Lenten Rose and Christmas Rose.
